Join us at Artcite Inc. on Thursday, August 8, from 7–9pm for a special screening of In Your Pocket: Portrait of Us, a collection of short films by LGBTQ+ creators. Delving into its rich archive, RT Collective has reorganized its past thematic programs, playfully cutting, pasting, and selecting works from over 10 years to create a program that showcases the funny, the sexy, the poetic, and the quotidian aspects of queer life.
Presented in partnership with RT Collective and Windsor-Essex Pride Fest.

In Your Pocket is a screening and commissioning program of works created by and for the LGBTQ communities using accessible video technologies like smartphones, iPads, and webcams. The project invites artists and audiences to rethink the value of these media forms within a broader context of queer film history, where many pioneering artists, unable to secure financing or high end equipment, turned to consumer grade media like Super 8 film and VHS video to share their stories.
Founded in 2013, RT Collective is a curatorial platform supporting the creation and dissemination of contemporary art. Working with a fluctuating team of curators, collaborators, artists, and institutions, we present screenings, exhibitions, and performances, produce catalogues and other small-scale publications, and host panel discussions, artist talks, and workshops. Operating within a continuously redefined collaborative structure, we examine, question, and ultimately deconstruct traditional curatorial models and institutional structures. In doing so, we propose alternative relationships between curators, artists, and publics, facilitating the development of new models in the creation, presentation, and distribution of art.
