My current exhibition reflects on notions of home and how we live within the armature of stuff daily. How do the objects with which we surround ourselves become building blocks that govern our understanding of space? What emotional, physical, and material forces come together to create a sense of home? In this participatory artmaking workshop, gallery goers are invited to engage with themes of memory, reminiscence, personal history, as they answer the question What is home?
Using color, line, writing, drawing, visual story telling, or any combination of these, participants are invited to contribute a page to a collaborative community art book. This book will become an important piece within the exhibition, fostering a unique dialogue surrounding local material culture through the personal lens of gallery goers.
Jazz Keillor will be in the space to work with participants for this free, drop in program.
