This is a free, beginner-level stop-motion animation art class for anyone interested in this art form. We will be exploring the art of stop-motion by creating our own short storylines, making sets and puppets, and bringing them to life with animation. We will be using a variety of fun materials that you can play and experiment with!

Catherine Hois is a visual artist, art teacher, and filmmaker, based in Windsor, Ontario. She has a Master of Fine Art, Bachelor of Fine Art, and Bachelor of Education from York University. Catherine uses a variety of media such as soft sculpture, painting, drawing, miniature set-making, and stop-motion animation.
Her current interests involve themes of femininity, mental health, the female bodily experience, abjection, and issues with pressures of extreme body management within society. Catherine often expresses these themes through visceral imagery and symbolic narratives. Catherine aims to challenge and confront these issues through artistic expression and engage in community discourse.
