conduit gallery
The Conduit Gallery is primarily intended for artists living and working in Windsor-Essex whose contemporary practices align with Artcite’s mandate. Priority is given to artists whose work is experimental, boundary-pushing, or socially engaged. We welcome proposals for curatorial projects and community outreach initiatives. We also invite proposals for transitional or in-progress projects that engage with process and development.
Artcite holds an annual call for submissions for the Conduit Gallery, filling all exhibition slots for the year at once. This year’s deadline is April 15, 2025. Selections are made by an internal Programming Committee composed of board members and chaired by Artcite's Programming Director. Only complete submissions will be considered, and application materials will be kept on file for one year.
Exhibition slots are 12 days long, including 2–3 days for installation, a Friday night reception (optional), and one day for deinstallation. Artists will have the opportunity to select up to three preferred exhibition slots during the submission process. Exhibition dates are fixed and will follow Artcite’s regular public exhibition hours and holiday closures.
Exhibiting in the Conduit Gallery is entirely cost-free. Artists are not required to pay any fees for the exhibition space, promotional design and outreach, installation assistance, or use of available technical equipment. Please note that Artcite is unable to provide exhibition fees for artists exhibiting in the Conduit Gallery.
We welcome applications from artists living and working in Windsor-Essex, including emerging artists and those from racial and cultural backgrounds who have been historically marginalized and underrepresented in our region. We encourage applications from Black, Indigenous, and 2SLGBTQI+ artists, as well as artists living with disabilities.
Please contact Stephen Mueller, our Programming Director, if you have any questions.
Note: our 2025 exhibition slots are limited due to scheduling constraints caused by our relocation. Beginning in 2026, we expect to be able to program 15–20 local exhibitions in the Conduit Gallery per year.
